About Dean:

With 20 years of experience as a professional interior designer, Dean Connell has delivered over two million sq ft of workspace across global markets. As one of the original designers at WeWork (2013-2020), he helped shape the coworking revolution, leading design teams across New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, and the Asia-Pacific region.

But his journey extends beyond workspace design. He’s a poet, spoken word artist, and design entrepreneur exploring how he can find purpose through his own creative work. This path began in the early 2000s when he was creating hip-hop beats and writing spoken word poetry, using creative expression as a vehicle for self-discovery.

Today, he integrates two decades of design expertise with his ongoing pursuit of authentic creative expression. This combination of professional mastery and personal exploration is what he shares with fellow creatives seeking their own path to purpose through work.

Garrett Tichy is a Charlotte-based entrepreneur most recently known for co-founding Seemingly Overzealous alongside his wife, Jessica. He’s also the founder of Hygge Coworking, a five-location coworking space that helped shape Charlotte’s startup community before being acquired in 2023.

Before that, Garrett co-founded the software company SMPL, which was acquired in 2020. Garrett’s work focuses on building businesses that bring people together, encourage creativity, and challenge the traditional way of doing things. He’s passionate about sharing the real, behind-the-scenes journey of entrepreneurship—messy moments and all.
