Some coworking spaces never completely closed, some are starting to slowly open back up, and some will not be open for weeks or months.
Regardless of the timeline for your own space—I trust you’re doing what’s best for you, your members and your community—start thinking about how you’re going to market coworking, shared workspace, and your brand of coworking once things return to normal-ish.
It’s going to be a slow return, and people will have lots of questions for you.
Become a source of information and education for your community. Don’t make people wonder what’s going on in your space.
It’s not entirely clear how shared space will work post-COVID, but you likely know a lot more than your members and neighbors do. So tell them, show them, inform them.
Positioning yourself as a local resource for remote workers and independent professionals of all types in your marketing is always a good idea.
Now, it’s even more important.
We all want to get out of the house; we all want to reconnect with our friends and workmates; we’re all stir crazy. But we also all want to keep ourselves and our families safe.
We all have questions about what a return to our coworking space will look like.
Be real, open and transparent about changes you’re making, protocol you’re implementing, questions you have and challenges you face.
People don’t expect you to have all the answers, but they do expect you to be proactive and communicative.
Lead, serve, continue to connect with people, and take the steps that are right for your community.
Your members are waiting.
